I spent a few (OK...... a LOT) of time on Pinterest today, looking for ideas to reuse my #10 cans and pantry size cans after I've eaten the food out of them. I don't like just throwing them away and my collection in the garage is getting a little out of hand. Pinterest is rather an exciting place to spend my time. There are so many ideas! Some people are so clever.
I found the goodies below on Pinterest. Click on the Pinterest link and it will go to my page. There's more ideas than the ones I posted below.
I think this was my favorite. I am rather partial to vintage although you wouldn't know it by looking at my house. I haven't really ever decorated that way, but I'm drawn to it. If I keep all the stuff I currently have, someday it will be vintage, right? Or maybe by then, just old. As long as it doesn't smell funny, (and I don't either) it's all right.
This would be a fun way to display forks and spoons for a picnic. It's heavy enough not to blow over and a handle could even be attached for easy transport. A little paint, some jute, a bit of fabric. Yeah, it looks pretty easy. I think I can handle it.
Having one reason to visit Hobby Lobby is all the reason I need. Now I have several reasons! It doesn't take much to persuade me to wander through all the pretty paper.. I don't scrapbook much these days, but I still love the different kinds of paper at the store.
Now, I don't know about yours, but my bathroom drawer is a bit ridiculous and could use some organizing like this. Isn't it pretty? I don't have that many makeup brushes but I'm sure I could find something to put in there! If you put the plastic lids on the bottom of your can, it will give it a finished look and also protect your counter.
So far my ideas are looking somewhat practical and this is the most practical one of them all! Good grief. Have you ever made a rocket stove? In my youth I made a 'stove' out of #10 can. It was good enough to fry an egg and toast a cheese sandwich, QUICKLY! It had one temperature and that was HIGH!
This one looks a little more practical and if it's not, it at least looks so much better than the one I made all those decades ago. It uses a pan. What a novel idea! We cooked right on the flat part of the can. My goodness. I guess it was fast and easy, because it was HOT! This is such a better idea, don't you think?

So as not to think that I'm a horrible practical BORE, here's a FUN idea! Yeah! I do fun.....once in a great while. Summer is coming so why not create some good times for the kids, or in my case, the grandkids.
Mmm, this might just take care of the cans, we have in the garage and I bet I can find some smaller ones for the smaller kiddos. We're off to see them in a few months. This just might be a lot of fun!
Maybe you found some new ideas to use with the cans that you have at your house. It's always a good thing to use and re-use right? It makes the world a a better place and really, we need all the help we can get.
I hope you visit my other pages on Pinterest. I really do more than just recycle cans. I sell food! You just might find some good recipes to help you unload your cans faster and then want to get some more!
